To attend, a Scout must be approved by his Scoutmaster or Varsity Scout Coach, and then by the Verdugo Hills Council Jamboree Committee. Each Scout must have completed the sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age and a First Class Scout by July 1, 2010. His 18th birthday, must not be before August 4, 2010.

Cost for Scouts will be approximately $3,500 to $4,000, which covers all air and ground transportation, lodging and meals. The trip includes a week-long tour prior to the Jamboree visiting historic cities and sites -- Washington D.C., Philadephia, Gettysburg, and Williamsburg. The only extras are uniforms, extra trading patches, other personal items and souvenir money.
